From February 8 to February 16, 2023, Professor Lee conducted an official field trip to Stockholm, Sweden, and Brussels, Belgium, as part of an academic outreach initiative to strengthen cooperation with European research institutions. The visit aimed to discuss future joint projects between the Korea University EU Centre and its European partner institutions, while expanding institutional networks in the Nordic and Benelux regions. In Stockholm, meetings were held with the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP) to review the Korea–Nordic Dialogue 2023 and discuss the renewal of the existing MOU. The professor also delivered a lecture at Stockholm University on “The Challenge of Indo-Pacific Strategy for South Korea,” contributing to academic exchange. Additional consultations took place at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) to explore follow-up cooperation after previous exchanges with Korea University. A roundtable discussion with local Korean research scholars was also organized to introduce the EU Centre’s ongoing activities. Following the Stockholm program, the professor traveled to Brussels to engage with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Belgium, discussing institutional cooperation and participation in events marking the 60th anniversary of Korea–EU diplomatic relations. Meetings were also conducted with officials from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture regarding ongoing EU-funded projects. Further academic exchanges were pursued through visits to KU Leuven and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), focusing on collaborative research and academic event participation. The visit concluded with discussions on strengthening EU cooperation and enhancing collaboration between the Korea University EU Centre and the European host institutions.
